RWD Introduces New Approach to Operationalizing Strategies and Front-Line Enablement

RWD Technologies (Baltimore), a consulting company that enables and drives successful business transformations and front-line effectiveness for Fortune 500 companies, launched a new website this month. The new site concentrates on how organizations can bridge the gap between strategy and execution, and will be a resource for business leaders seeking to more successfully execute initiatives and enable front- line performers to excel. RWD shares insights into how an organization can implement solutions that create performance velocity across all company functions, and the new website will be one of many ways that RWD shares this critical information to help business leaders create long-term, sustainable business impact.

“Performance velocity is the intersection where business strategies, the processes required to deploy them and the speed by which learning, performance support and collaboration all sync,” said Patricia Begley, chief operating officer. “As companies contend to attain a performance-tuned work environment, RWD provides both the operational lens and front-line enablement to achieve sustainable impact.”

RWD, which was recently named one of Training Industry’s Top 20 IT Training Companies for the third consecutive year, introduced the new site as a venue to showcase thought leadership and to share industry-specific insights through a searchable knowledge center database. Throughout the site, RWD provides real world insight along with data to present challenges and successes of today’s largest business initiatives. The site also aligns the Company’s solutions to the roles and challenges encountered across organizations.

The site presents informative and thought-provoking content using articles, case studies, white papers and video streaming to provide visitors additional subject matter expertise. To facilitate greater interactivity with clients, it also includes a blog with the latest client, partner and consultant insights. In addition, the site will encourage visitors to take part in webinars and speaking engagements led by RWD subject matter experts. Upcoming webinar topics include: Learning Trends for 2011 to take place on Jan. 12 and Ensuring Initiative Success on Jan. 26. A complete listing of the 2011 webinar calendar can be found at http://www.rwd.com/events/.

“To underscore our commitment to strategy-based solutions and thorough execution of those strategies, RWD welcomes and desires to engage with those leaders who seek new information and who share a vested interest in achieving initiative success,” said Begley.

RWD, which is based in Baltimore and has offices in North America, Europe and South America, was included on Modern Healthcare’s list of Largest Healthcare Management Consulting Firms, and earned the American Society of Training and Development’s “Excellence in Practice Award.”

Blue Streak Courier Named One of Florida's Companies to Watch in 2011

Blue Streak Couriers (Orlando) has been recognized as a recipient of the 2011 Florida Companies to Watch award, an honor presented by GrowFL, the Florida Economic Gardening Institute at the University of Central Florida and ACG Florida, in association with the Edward Lowe Foundation. Fifty companies from across the state of Florida will receive their awards at an awards gala on Thursday, Feb.17 at the Rosen Shingle Creek Resort in Orlando.

Florida Companies to Watch is an awards program that celebrates privately held second-stage companies headquartered in the state. To be eligible, applicants must employ between six and 99 full-time equivalent employees and have between $750,000 and $50 million in annual revenue or working capital in place. Award winners are selected for demonstrating the intent and capacity to grow based on employee or sales growth, exceptional entrepreneurial leadership, sustainable competitive advantage or other notable strengths.

Blue Streak is a Jacksonville-based transportation company with the capability to provide same-day, same-market delivery service throughout the southeastern United Sates. From On-demand, Routed/Scheduled, Next Flight Out, Critical Parts/Warehousing and Distribution services, Blue Streak can deliver a wide variety of items according to specific client needs and time requirements.

The two very important components to Blue Streak’s success are professional drivers and technology.

The drivers serve as ambassadors not only of the Blue Streak brand, but also of the client companies they serve. To maintain the image of professionalism, preference is given to mature, professional ladies and gentlemen with experience in the transportation industry. All drivers wear a full uniform, including picture identification. They are licensed and insured and pass an extensive background check prior to initiating service.

The second, equally important component is how Blue Streak leverages technology. Not only can clients enter requests electronically, but they can elect to receive email confirmations upon each step of the delivery cycle: order submission, pick-up, and delivery. This feature provides full visibility of shipments with real-time information. This allows customers to focus on their core competencies instead of worrying about deliveries. Additionally, clients can receive invoices electronically and pay via ACH.

Intelliship Branches Out in San Diego

Intelliship Freight Solutions (San Diego), has announced their expanded service to markets in and around the San Diego area.

"The launch of Intelliship Freight Solutions came out of a need to bring professionalism into the local trucking industry," added Manager Joey Hernandez. "Our drivers are clean, articulate, have great attitudes, and go out of their way to help our customers out. As veterans of the shipping industry, we understand that it is critically important to always deliver beyond expectations and provide personal service at excellent rates. This is a void that has existed in our local market, and one we will fulfill."

Intelliship Freight Solutions handles all types of freight and has a well-established record of transporting sensitive materials. The company specializes in pick-up and delivery for business, airline drop and recovery, palletizing, small crating services, exclusive trailers, customs brokerage, and more. Additionally, Intelliship Freight Solutions is an expert on convention freight with relationships with local convention center and hotel personnel.

While service is the mainstay of Intelliship's customer promise, the company also launches with the client's budget in mind. "I can't tell you how many stories I hear about unexpected charges encountered by companies shipping product, with their freight held until payment is received," added Hernandez. "There are certain things our clients can expect from us and at our core is our promise that our customers will know their charges before the shipment begins and will not be forced to pay unnecessary fees."

Among savings experienced by Intelliship Freight Solutions' clients are free shrink wrap and palletizing of first pallets, and complimentary pick up of a reasonable amount of freight within a building as long as it does not require going up a flight of stairs.

The shipping solutions company serves Greater San Diego, including everything from the border of Mexico, to Vista and Camp Pendleton to the north, as well as El Cajon and Alpine to the east. Intelliship Freight Solutions is also available for "hot shots" outside of the normal service area.

Descartes Earns Motorola Enterprise Mobility Validation

Descartes Systems Group (Waterloo, Ontario) has announced their MobileLink technology has achieved Enterprise Mobility validation through completing Motorola’s Enterprise Mobility Validated Solution Program that includes joint testing at the Motorola Solution Center located in Holtsville, N.Y. MobileLink was granted the Enterprise Mobility validation for Motorola’s ES400 enterprise mobile computer. This designation helps assure customers and partners of system interoperability between Motorola mobile computers and Descartes’ MobileLink solution.

Descartes MobileLink, part of Descartes’ mobile and wireless fleet management suite, is a solution that provides integrated two-way wireless communication between dispatchers and the field. The solution enhances logistics execution through real-time data exchange with remote personnel. By keeping the entire enterprise up-to-date on delivery status and truck/driver location, companies can rely on actual performance data, improve on-time performance and predict delivery windows more accurately. In addition, customer satisfaction improves due to better visibility.

"Descartes is committed to accelerating time-to-value of the mobility solutions our customers are demanding today. The Motorola Enterprise Mobility Validation is a significant achievement as it assures seamless integration, faster solution deployment and higher end-user satisfaction," said Ken Wood, senior vice president, Product Strategy at Descartes. "We are proud to receive this accreditation and look forward to working with Motorola to serve the needs of this growing and dynamic market."

Motorola’s Enterprise Mobility Validated Solutions Program enables partners to test and validate their mobility solutions on Motorola products to help ensure interoperability and meet customer application-specific needs, as well as reduce both the risk level and the time to deployment for the customer. Working closely with Motorola engineering teams, Descartes MobileLink has been tested and co-validated on Motorola’s ES400 enterprise mobile computer.

See it Live

Descartes will be demonstrating its home delivery solutions for retailers using Motorola’s ES400 enterprise mobile computer at the NRF 100th Annual Convention & EXPO Convention at the Jacob K. Javits Convention Center in New York City from January 10 to 12 at the Microsoft Booth #836. For more information, please visit http://events.nrf.com/annual2011/
